Consider harnessing sound as a way of interpreting the universe, relationships, changes, and the here and now; a process wherein an exploration of cosmopolitics is implicit; a sublimation technique to navigate between the form and essence of all things.

Reimagining the soundscape of Chinese martial arts

Future Tao is a performance with my Wushu mentor and friend Yan Shengyuan, and Xia Lin to reimagine the soundscape of internal martial arts. Taichi, a seemingly passive but internally vigorous form of martial arts that stresses on flow between mind and body, human and universe. Qi, as an ancient yet highly ambiguous energy that connects all things together, can be perhaps linked to Lebniz's theory of a spirit of matter, a kind of material motivation that generates kinetic loss and gain between interconnected parts of the whole. Through this experiment, we hope to find new meanings of Taoist spiritual practices in contemporary life.
